This could be a really long story, so here’s the abbreviated version.
After high school, I went in the Army and spent a couple of years in Germany. While I was overseas, I traveled, sang in a German band called Liquid Lunch (after beer, of course), and watched The Wall come down and Germany reunite. Then came Desert Storm (though I luckily did not go to Iraq), and my daughter, Kaitlin.
The next few years were spent going to college and being a mom. I got a degree in court reporting and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where I also sang in recording studios and on Printer’s Alley. I hated court reporting, though, so I moved back to California.
After a few more years of school, I ended up with a Master’s Degree in Education. Since I’ve been here in the San Francisco area, I’ve been having fun playing and coaching soccer, singing in a swing/jazz band (mostly weddings and corporate gigs), songwriting, more demo singing for a local recording studio, and occasionally hanging out with Cass Brown and Jeff Martz (class of ’87).
A few years ago here in Napa, I met my sweet and wonderful husband, Kevin. He is a deep sea diver…the first one I had ever met, but now I know quite a few.
I am currently teaching 5th grade and still pursuing my PhD in Music Education. Kaitlin is going to be a Senior in high school this year. Blows my mind. She is a Varsity Cheerleader and VP of her high school choir, but best of all, she is smart and funny and a blast to be around.
The second photo shows Kaitlin (on the left) and her half sister, Chastity. Chastity has been "my girl" since she was 6. Chastity is now 21, in college, and a complete sweetheart.
