Linda (Feiertag) Harlow

First, I want to thank our outstanding reunion committee for all of the efforts put into making our reunion happen!  And to Wendy and Tana for keeping up with the website, registration and everything they do.   I’ve really enjoyed reading all the bios.  That being said, it is hard to believe that it’s been 20 years!  And I would have never thought 20 years ago that I would be doing what I am doing today!  J

After HS graduation, I moved to Albuquerque and went to school at T-VI.  After graduating with an Associates Degree, I moved back to Los Alamos and hired on with one of the contractors to the lab and worked on some exciting projects, while having a great time being in my early 20’s!  In 1993, I decided it was time for a career change so went back to school at ENMU with the intention of majoring in communications.  However, that all changed after a semester of intense personality conflicts with the primary instructor.  So I graduated in 1995 with a degree in Psychology.  Needing a break from school, I moved back to Los Alamos again, intending to go back for my masters once I recouped.  Instead, I reconnected with my senior year boyfriend, Patrick Harlow (LAHS ’89), got married and had a baby!

Two of the most amazing people in my life are my children…. Bradley and Cameron!

Bradley, my miracle baby, was born in February of 1998, weighing in at 2 lbs. 12 ½ oz.  He got to spend a few days in the neo-natal ICU and 2 ½ weeks in infant ICU.  I got to bring home a 3 lb. 4 oz. baby!  He just turned 10 and is doing great!  He has more friends than I know what to do with and has never met a stranger.  He loves playing the Playstation and is amazing at it!  He is smart, funny, and has the biggest heart of anyone I know!  He’s not a big proponent of organized education but craves knowledge… he’s the “why?” kid.  He also has an amazing knack for electronics and would like to design, create, and test video games for a living.

Cameron was born in August of 2000.    He has the biggest personality and is definitely one of a kind!   Cameron wants to be a rock star, and is totally addicted to Guitar Hero (he’d win the competition for sure if he could compete!)   He’s turned into quite the little rocker dude, making his mama proud.  But he is currently happy to be a movie star.  He auditioned for and got a speaking part in a movie filmed here in NM with Dennis Quaid and Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy fame) called “Legion.”    Cameron is my model student, perfect in class.  His teacher told him that she wished she had a million of him!  He’s a very intense little kid… in a good way, of course.

As for me, I’ve been working part-time for the Bee Smart Café as the hot lunch coordinator, catering hot lunches to 3 of the local elementary schools.  It’s great because I get to see the boys everyday during their lunch hour and I’m off when they are!  I’ve also been selling Avon for 7 years, and in my “free” time, I make jewelry out of sterling silver wire, glass beads and crystals, and dichroic glass that I fuse myself.  I’m also very active with the boys’ cubs scout dens.  I’m one of the neighborhood stay-at-home-moms and love that I know where my kids are and whom they are playing with.  Patrick is an automotive technician and works at Mindy’s uncle’s station.  My parents still live in the house I grew up in and the boys have a great relationship with them.  My sister, Susie, who is an incredible aunt and my best friend, lives down in ABQ so we get to see her often, although never often enough!

That’s it in a nutshell!  Can’t wait to see everyone!
