Wow, 20 years sure does go by fast! I have been reading other peoples bios and decided I better write one of my own, although my life hasn't been all that exciting. I truly don't feel like I'm 38 years old, but with every grey hair I see springing from my scalp (why is it those hairs grow straight up?) I realize I ain't getting any younger. Here is a short synopsis of the last 20 years...try not to fall asleep.
I graduated from LAHS and decided college at NMSU was the way to go, however I wasn't cut out for college and after a year decided to move back to Albuquerque to work. I met this guy that swept me off my feet, we got engaged, I got pregnant and eventually that "dream guy" showed his true colors and we broke up. I however, was still pregnant and facing single motherhood. This definitely wasn't what I had planned for my life, but had to make the best of a difficult situation. I got a job with Southwest Airlines at the Albuquerque Airport which is where I met my future husband. He was a charmer and everybody loved him (I soon found out they loved him a bit too much), I thought he was amazing he loved me and my son we were married 2 years later, had 2 more kids and then divorced (that is obviously the condensed version of everything that happened). Now here I was facing single motherhood of 3 kids, again, this was not what I had planned for my life, but had to make the best o f a d ifficult situation. So, I became a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines because they made a lot more money than someone working at the ticket counter. I worked as a flight attendant until it became too difficult to leave my kids, and to be honest it was getting boring and I had that "itch" to go back to school.
So, I went back to college. While going to school, I worked at my daughters school in an autism specific pre-school and absolutely loved it! I quickly realized that God put me into that position because it was my "calling" in life to work with autistic children so, my degree became a masters in special education and that is where I am now. I absolutely love my life. I may not have taken the easy path, but I got there eventually. My kids are now 16 (Tanner), 13 (Logan), and 9 (Hannah) they are the most amazing kids in the world (all parents say that I know). I haven't re-married, I wanted to make sure I did everything right by these kids and frankly I just didn't have the time or the energy to date!
It has been great reading about everyones lives and seeing their families. I hope to see everyone at the reunion.
