Shari (Putman) Taylor

It has been good to read all of the bios and find out how everyone is doing and what they are up to these days.  Here is what has been going on in my life since high school.

In 1988 I headed off to Abilene, Texas to McMurry University .  I earned my bachelor degree in communication and a minor in biology.  I used this degree and what I learned for  my job I had at the lab (for a short time) and at Borax  Inc. in So. Cal.(also for a short time).  I enjoyed my college days and also my jobs but they have not been what has brought me true happiness and joy to my life.

While I was at McMurry I realized how meaningless my life was, how selfish I was, and how sinful and imperfect I am.  Was there a solution?  I could not find it in being a good friend , or making good grades , or trying to be cool.  Many of the friends I did make told me about Jesus Christ and about salvation.  I thought I was fine and a Christian already and did not think I was in need of a Savior, after all I went to church on Sunday and did not go to all the “bad” parties.  I also said I believed in the Bible but I had NEVER read it!!!!  When I began to read it, the Lord opened my eyes.  In April of 1991, Jesus Christ saved me by His grace and made me a new person.  Perfect?  No, but by His grace and forgiveness through His death on the cross and resurrection, I am now a true Christian, not in name only.  I know I am different now because I can see His promises fulfilled in my life and I want to be obedient to what the Bible says, before, I could have cared less.

Another exciting event in my life was Christmas time 1991.  Jesse Taylor and I met up again and began to date. We were married June 26th 1993 in Los Alamos.  What a wonderful man he is.  He is a godly husband who loves me and he is the best Daddy.  I love to watch him with the kids, we all have a good time together.  Jesse and I have been married fifteen wonderful years this June.  I told my Mom I would never marry anyone from Los Alamos, nor would I ever live there.  Well here we are in Los Alamos and loving it!

Jesse is a youth pastor and I stay home with and teach our kids. Did I mention that we have six?  Yes the Lord has blessed us with six.  Is this easy?  No, but the Lord gives me strength and joy for each new day.  Rebekah is 14, Rachel is 12, Ruth is 11, Jerald is 9, Jeremiah is 5 and Hudson is 10 months and walking. They all work together quite nicely (usually) and their ages work out well.   I can even go to the store by myself these days!

There was a difficult time in my life just three years ago.  To any of you who knew my Mom she passed away after a 10 year battle with cancer.  I miss her greatly but I know I will see her again in heaven some day.   My Dad is doing quite well, living in Las Cruces.
